First Option Mortgage is always looking for ways to be able to give back to the communities it serves and lives in. Last Saturday the Portland First Option Mortgage team rolled their sleeves up and gave their time to help local families in need with Rebuilding Together.
Rebuilding Together believes that everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy home by providing critical repairs, accessibility modifications for the disabled, and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes at no cost to the recipients.
Since the chapters inception 23 years ago, Portland Rebuilding Together has helped 1,100 homeowners, has added 17 million in property values back into the community, and has had over 25,000 volunteers.
Rebuilding Together’s impact extends beyond just the Portland chapter however, with various chapters throughout the United States who help to revitalize and stabilize vulnerable neighborhoods and communities across the country. As a whole, Rebuilding Together completes nearly 10,000 projects each year with the help of everyday citizens, skilled tradespeople and the support of local businesses like First Option Mortgage.
If you want to get involved with Rebuilding Together, there are many ways you can contribute. In addition to making a donation, you can also advocate for, volunteer with, educate or start an affiliate office in your own area.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Portland area, you can get in touch with Mitch Falkenstein, Portland Building Together Board Member and First Option Mortgage lender by calling our Portland First Option Mortgage branch at (503) 840-6400.
